Harpist

 

Rachael Gladwin is a contemporary harpist based in the North West and has played at a huge variety of venues, from the beautiful Albert Hall in London and Philharmonic Hall in Liverpool to festivals such as Green Man, The Big Chill and Glastonbury.

 

Rachael studied at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts and graduated in 2008 with a first class honours degree in music. Her tutors have included renowned British harpists Eleanor Hudson and Eira-Lynn Jones, as well as international jazz harpist Park Stickney. On live work, recorded projects and TV appearances she has worked with artists including Corinne Bailey Rae, Gilles Peterson, Susan Boyle and Jimmy Osmond. She is a regular on London’s jazz circuit performing at venues such as Ronnie Scott’s and the Soho Jazz Club, and she has performed for Sir Paul McCartney, premier league footballers and royalty.

 

Rachael will provide beautiful background music for any occasion. Her extensive repertoire of classical, traditional, contemporary, jazz and original material means that clients have plenty to choose from when selecting pieces for their special day – and don't forget that special song can be learnt especially for you, arranged for solo harp or harp and cello duo! Rachael performs on a stunning 44-string French harp made by Camac; the black wood, cream soundbox and gold finishings of the instrument add an eye-catching aesthetic to any event.
